Our journey in golf

Discover the story behind the Australian Taxi Golf Association, from our humble beginnings to our thriving community today. We're proud to share our passion for golf with you.

Our humble beginnings

The Australian Taxi Golf Association was formed in Victoria at the Swan Hill Golf Club during a council meeting held on 21st March 1977. We commenced as a predominantly taxi drivers' social golf club, but as time has progressed, we now welcome any players with a registered GA Handicap. Our foundation was built on a shared love for golf and a desire to connect within the taxi industry.

What makes us unique

What sets the Australian Taxi Golf Association apart is our commitment to community and competition. We host Australian National Championships shared between each state every year on a rotational basis. State bodies also hold their championships annually, and club golf is usually played weekly on a Tuesday, as Tuesdays were traditionally slower days in the taxi industry. Our members love the camaraderie and the competitive spirit.

"Being a part of the Australian Taxi Golf Association has been an incredible experience. The tournaments are fantastic and the community is so welcoming."
